Cidade de Ubatuba

Ubatuba, another wonder of North Shore of São Paulo State, mixes Nature and History.

It was a place where important historic facts about Portuguese colonization took place. The city also got the blessing for having José de Anchieta’s poems written on its sand.
After Iperoig Peace Treaty was signed, Ubatuba became an important harbor from where coffee was exported.

Local people (called “caiçaras”) were as brave as the Tamoio Indians, who had been living there before white men arrived, and both the “caiçaras” and Tamoio native people have always known how to preserve the most beautiful features of the city: its natural beauty, the warmth of its people and its History.
